Description
This trek follows the traditional trade and trekking route from the southwest into Solukhumbu, the Mount Everest area. The trek starts at Jiri after an eight hour drive from Kathmandu. The drive offers a fascinating glimpse of the central Nepali 'hill' country. The trail east from Jiri ascends up lovely forested valleys and over the 3,530 meter high Lamajura Pass. Along the way, you will trek through rustic Sherpa villages, farms, and Buddhist monasteries set against the backdrop of the high Himalayas.

This itinerary differs from The Real Nepal Trek until Kharikhola on day 10; thereafter, the itineraries are identical. Beyond Dingboche on day 17 you may substitute one of the following three options: the Imjatse option, the Gokyo option, or the Cho La pass option. Prices vary by option.

Itinerary

1	Arrive in Kathmandu. Late-afternoon city walk, usually amazing for first-time visitors to Nepal
2	Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
3	Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and preparation for trekking departure
4	In the morning we load a charter bus with all our gear and provisions, and drive to Jiri. We then camp near Jiri.
5	To Sivalaya.
6	To Bhandar.
7	To Sete.
8	To Taktor.
9	To Nunthala.
10	To Kharikhola.
11	To Khari-La pass.
12	To Chaurikharka (just west of Lukla on the Dudh Kosi).
13	To Jorsale, camp near park entrance.
14	To Namche Bazaar, a big climb up from the Dudh Kosi.
15	In Namche Bazaar, optional day hike(s)or visit local museums. This is an acclimatization day.
16	To Tengboche, a world-famous monastery. Your first great mountain views in the morning.
17	To Dingboche, the highest elevation agricultural community in Nepal.
18	To Pheriche, visit Himalayan Rescue Clinic and check oxygen saturation. A short day.
19	To Lobuche.
20	To Gorak Shep.
21	Back to Lobuche, after clambering up to Kala Pattar for a great view of the world's mightiest peaks.
22	To Pheriche
23	To Phortse
24	To Khumjung
25	To Phakding
26	To Lukla, short day of walking. Free afternoon.
27	Fly to Kathmandu mid-morning. Free afternoon.
28	In the Kathmandu Valley, guided touring and shopping.
29	Depart Kathmandu for home.
